Jesse has been wanting all of us to get back on our bikes and start taking some family bike rides. This morning he got up early with the kids and took all three of them on a quick little ride. All went well until they were turning into our neighborhood.
Isabel had built up a lot of speed and didn’t quite make it around the corner. Poor girl met the ground with her face. She was pretty tough and went to school…though is not excited to go back tomorrow.
Her face is fairly swollen and she is getting a pretty good black eye. We will need to get her new glasses as hers are all scratched now. I was very surprised they didn’t break! Her helmet has some large scratches and a pretty big dent, glad she had that thing on!
Also today, we said goodbye to an old reliable friend. I had been trying to sell my car for two or three weeks. I can sell just about anything on Craigslist, but it seems that doesn’t extend to cars. Jesse listed it again this morning and had it sold by 2:00 this afternoon. That green car was so good to us. I can attest to the longevity of Toyota’s, 187 thousand miles and still running like a champ.
Thursday we will head north…can’t wait for a little getaway, feeling a little apprehensive to leave my kiddos. Especially my girl and her fragile self! They, on the other hand, are extremely excited!
See you in a week or so!
