the value of decoupage

While studying an artist for Isabel’s school class I stumbled upon some interesting little facts and thought I would share. Because they made me laugh.  Henri Matisse, the man who painted this painting, entitled “The Plum Blossoms,” also created the wonderfully ridiculous “art form” known as decoupage.  Seriously.  Oh yeah, this painting, though not decoupaged, managed to fetch a whopping 25 MILLION dollars.

  1. I would never know the difference between expensive art, and art drawn by a 3rd grader. Maybe I should start selling some of Annika’s paintings! I have to admit though, I love decoupageing!!
